\nand our facility. The Year Round
\nStewardship committee has put
\ntogether the following thoughts
\nand facts that can help you to
\nmake your pledge decision.
\nPlease understand that the Fair
\nShare commitment is aspirational
\nwhile the Blended Average cost
\nfigure is informational. For those
\nwho are unable to afford these
\npledge levels please consider
\nstretching your personal
\ncommitment but know that at
\nwhatever pledge amount you can
\nafford you are a welcome and
\nvalued member of our community.
\nFor those who can afford to do
\nmore your help is gratefully
\naccepted and sincerely
\nappreciated.<\/span><\/p>\n

We all derive so much from this
\nwonderful institution: spiritual
\nsolace, friendship, a feeling of belonging, ritual, education not to
\nmention pot luck dinners.<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Why do we pledge? For \u2026.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wonderful Worship Services<\/strong> that lift our souls. \u00a0Compassionate Ministry<\/strong> to turn to as we face life’s joys and\u00a0sorrows, a beautiful building<\/strong> that merges Nature with Spirituality, inspiring Music<\/strong> which comforts, entertains and motivates us, good Fellowship<\/strong> with friends who share our values, a Religious Education<\/strong> program which gives our children Spiritual\u00a0 Values for the rest of their lives. the chance to do so much good<\/strong> through Advocating Gun Control, the Beardsley School Project, Environmental Action, KIVA Microfinance, Mercy Learning Center, Racial Justice Committee, Rainbow Task Force, Supporting the work of the UU Untied Nations Office and on and on. — Let\u2019s think of these things as we think of how much to give.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What is our responsibility?\u00a0 We know\u2026..<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

  • The budget we democratically approve at our Annual Meeting each year is almost entirely dependent on us, the congregation, for funding<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Running our ministries and programs have fixed costs that are laid out in the operating budget and if not met require severe measures like the possibility of staff lay-offs<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The folks sitting next to\/behind\/in front of us in the sanctuary count on us to shoulder our share of the financial responsibility, just as we count on them<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We should help our new minister bring their ministry here on a strong financial footing<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We should express our gratitude for The Unitarian Church in Westport and all it means to us by digging deep and, yes, giving sacrificially<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    And there is no one but us\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
