I offer this little verse from a friend of mine shared widely on the internet. Enjoy!<\/p>\n
T’was a month before Christmas, and all through the town,
\nPeople wore masks, that covered their frown.
\nThe frown had begun way back in the Spring,
\nWhen a global pandemic changed everything.
\nThey called it corona, but unlike the beer,
\nIt didn\u2019t bring good times, it didn\u2019t bring cheer.
\nAirplanes were grounded, travel was banned.
\nBorders were closed across air, sea and land.
\nAs the world entered lockdown to flatten the curve,
\nThe economy halted, and folks lost their nerve.
\nFrom March to July we rode the first wave,
\nPeople stayed home, they tried to behave.
\nWhen summer emerged the lockdown was lifted.
\nBut away from caution, many folks drifted.<\/p>\n
Now it\u2019s December and cases are spiking,
\nWave two has arrived, much to our disliking.
\nIt\u2019s true that this year has had sadness a plenty,
\nWe\u2019ll never forget the year 2020.
\nAnd just \u2018round the corner – the holiday season,
\nBut why be merry? Is there even one reason?
\nTo decorate the house and put up the tree,
\nWho will see it, no one but me.
\nBut outside my window the snow gently falls,
\nAnd I think to myself, let\u2019s deck the halls!
\nSo, I gather the ribbon, the garland and bows,
\nAs I play those old carols, my happiness grows.
\nChristmas is not cancelled and neither is hope.
\nIf we lean on each other, I know we can cope !<\/p>\n
