High School Youth Group (meets in the Meeting House lower level)

[metaslider id=5959]

High School Students meet in a comfortable setting to explore and share together their questions about many topics such as life, relationships, spirituality, and social justice. The teens plan and carry out social justice projects and activities throughout the year with the support of adult advisors. They are encouraged to develop leadership skills and think critically about popular culture and issues of the day. They have several opportunities throughout the year to create and lead worship services for themselves and the larger congregation.

Bridging Ceremony – This rite of passage celebrates the transition from youth to young adulthood for our graduating high school seniors.   This ceremony takes place during our Religious Education Sunday, which is the celebration of our Religious Education program each year.

Youth Outreach/Social Justice

High School youth are encouraged to view themselves as agents of change in the world as they develop qualities crucial to social justice work. They reflect on their own lives while making connections to the lives lived by others, building self-awareness, while growing as leaders. In the recent past our teens have worked to restore homes and provide basic services in places like Bridgeport, New Orleans, Washington, DC, and Kenya.
